When I started my vlog, I used to think content creation was about capturing videos, editing them and sharing my experiences online. However, as I grew, I realized there was an entire world behind the curtains which was digital marketing.
Initially, I thought terms like SEO, analytics, and engagement rates were extremely complex. In order to effectively promote my content, I knew I had to understand how to market it. I started experimenting with different strategies — changing the titles of my videos, adding more nouns to the descriptions, and using appropriate keywords. It was slow, but I finally noticed increased visibility in the videos I posted.
Instagram and Youtube shorts as social media platforms were also a game changer. These platforms not only enabled me to reach my audience, but did so beyond the primary videos I posted. I started feeling changes while working with other content creators and replying to comments.
